Since the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997/98, Asian economies have bounced back. Can Asia continue to strengthen its economies and financial systems, and contribute to a more robust and stable international financial state? How vulnerable is Asia and the new global financial architecture to economic and financial risks that have been building since the Asian Crisis like the explosive growth of hedge funds, new derivative markets, LBOs and other financial leverage?
This year, the ESS had the honor of inviting Mr Timothy F. Geithner, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, to share his views on Asia, The World Economy & The International Financial System, at the Annual Dinner.
