The Singapore Economic Policy Forum was held on 22 nd October 2010 at Grand Hyatt Singapore, attended by more than 300 participants. The forum is organised annually by the Economic Society of Singapore together with one of the major universities, NUS, NTU and SMU, in rotation; and now with the Civil Service College. This forum is the leading platform for economic policy discussion in Singapore which brings together policymakers, scholars, business professionals, students and interested members of public to exchange views on contemporary economic issues facing Singapore and Asia.
This year, the forum featured prominent speakers and thought-leaders to explore a wide range of contemporary economic issues, ranging from the effects of the financial crisis on Asian economies, how financial regulation in Asia should be reformed, the role of industrial policy in Singapore, inequality and its effects on society, and how Singapore can enhance its social safety nets .
